Dear Critter:
My agent works for Coldwell Banker. I never received a check because I never paid that fee. My realtor always covered my fees for me at the closing. She said she always had a problem with passing that fee to her clients.
Bye for now.

February 18, 2008 at 8:52 AM #154850sdrealtorParticipantI just watched Battiata’s goofy commercial and decided to see how he’s doing these days.
86 active listings……not bad
ZERO listings put into escrow since January 1st
ZERO buyers put into escrow since January 1st.
That’s gotta sting!
When business was easy their off the shelf marketing strategies, (they dont create them they buy a sales process that was created by an agent up in Canada) worked. It offers lots of bells and whistles with high perceived value but what it is truly intended to do is generate leads for them not sell your home. I guess we seeing that now.

July 23, 2008 at 10:27 AM #245169AnonymousGuestHi Guys –
This is Matt Battiata. Thanks for all your kind words.
Here’s some clarification: we are now closing over 90% of our short sales. In fact, we are now posting recent approvals on our website (battiata.com).
To the agent who wrote the lengthy post re short sales and his or her interaction one of my agents – the reason my agent got fed up with your questioning re short sales was not bc your questions were over his head, in fact it was the opposite. That agent you were speaking with and I have negotiated and sold well over 100 short sales – you stated you have done 5(buyer sides, yes?).
Either way, thanks to our friends at the banks, short sales are very, very difficult and hard on everyone involved. If my agent was short with you on the phone, I apologize on his behalf.
As for sdrealtor, your #’s are inaccurate – we will sell over 100 homes this year and the marketing I do has nothing to do with a “sales process that was created by an agent up in Canada.”
As for short sales, they do take a while to close due to how overwhelmed the lenders are at the moment. For this reason, they often do not show closed or pending for months.
Take a look at the #’s at the end of 2008.
I am not sure why the tone of some of these posts is so negative. I enjoy real estate, have a great relationship with the majority of my clients and fellow realtors, and sell the majority of the homes I list.
I would like to see the discussion elevated to a level where it can do some good. For example, how to make short sales go smoother etc.
Bottom line, there is plenty of business out there – agents don’t need to attack each other to make a living, even in this market.
Cheers –
