I don’t mind your giving me grief at all. 😉
I understand the corrupting power of money. Oftentimes politicians get into power and they succumb to the influences of money.
Another thing that affected the political establishment is that the Federal Reserve had been able to manipulate the money supply apparently so well for so long (so they thought).
The establishment came to actually beleive in the “great moderation”. They did believe that the business cycle was a thing of the past.
Unfortunately, the Federal Reserve’s manipulation created the financial crisis of 2008.

In related matters, I don’t see why progressives should be poor.
Our political system is what it is. There’s nothing wrong with taking advantage of it to our own personal advantage.
That doesn’t stop us from wanting and working for a better society.
We know all too well that money is power. And with power, we can change society.
Warren Buffet, Bill Gates, George Soros, John Kerry, etc… are all extremely rich. But they are progressive thinkers.
