It doesn’t matter if Jobs and Gates dropped out of college because only a tiny portion of the population will become executives, CEOs, managers and millionaires.
Totally agree with this. Lets look at it another way, if Gates and Jobs are 1 in 100 million, type of people, US have 300M people, so there are 3 of them. Many 1 in 100M will China & India yield when they have a combined of about 3B people?
If you’re going to become an ordinary adult with an ordinary family, and an ordinary job, you’re better off with a PhD than a bachelor degree. Even if a PhD has to work at entry level salary, he’ll be fine and live a comfortable life. A person with only a bachelor will not be fine if the only job he can find is at McDonald’s.
Yes and no, it depends on the profession. a PhD in animal psychology is probably not going to make that much money while a AA degree as a RN would probably make more.September 2, 2010 at 10:16 AM #599416anParticipant
Just trying to say that education is no guarantee of success but it’s great insurance against failure.
Social skills education is also important (etiquette on how to behave in certain situations, how to order food, carry yourself in social gatherings, etc..)
