Nostradamus, thanks for posting the “matoupa” dancers link. I, for one, enjoyed it. I can’t say for certain that the kind of dancing I saw at the African Art Festival in LA some years ago was the same kind of dancing, but judging from your video, it’s a good chance it was. What I remember was the dancers (they were all women) had a great deal of energy and they just ran up close to the audience and it was on. It was just so much energy.
Nostradamus, Shakira is OK, but if you like gyrating hips (obviously you do-the matoupa hips are off the chart!). Anyway here is the video I was talking about. Since we’ve taken to posting videos on this thread, I thought I’d post one of my favorites. If you’re a fan, I’m sure you’ve seen it.
