Question…I don’t see the name “Altisource”, “Altisource Homes”, “Altisource Homes, Inc.” or any other variation of this name listed as a registered company with the California Department of Real Estate.
If they are putting signs in the yard advertising homes for sale don’t they have to be licensed with the CA Dept of RE?May 17, 2010 at 12:52 PM #551064sandiegojeffParticipantQuestion…I don’t see the name “Altisource”, “Altisource Homes”, “Altisource Homes, Inc.” or any other variation of this name listed as a registered company with the California Department of Real Estate.

sandiegojeff, check the Fictitious Business Names (FBN) Index at the Clerk/Recorder’s Office for the name of the proprietor of this business. Then check those names on the DRE website for Broker/Salesperson licenses. Then you will have your answer.

So many words to describe this company and not enough room to put it all down. Well yes at times they do charge to much to bid online, so I just pass on those and when they don’t sale they change the charges.
When you win, DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES EVER USE THEIR TITLE COMPANY….
That being said, agent will not return a call, email or otherwise. The transaction coordinator is from another country so you will get some email from them other hours than business hours. They will not answer any questions you may have, they loose all the paperwork.
You will feel that you are receiving messages from the random emails telling you your lost long family member died and a stranger wants to give you millions just send them xxxx.
That being said as an agent, an agent can represent you in the auction/bid I recommend it no cost to you for that as the buyer.
In the event you get passed the part of receiving a sign contract back and USE YOUR OWN TITLE COMPANY… The deal should go as planned.
You will notice I keep saying use your own title company…Please do I have heard horror stories from RE agents, lost earnest deposits, closing not completed on time, etc….goes on from there. Not to mention when your money leaves the State your RE agent can no longer help you.
happy bidding you can find some deals, you will have to be patient me Im not I have done 2 deals and yelled at countless answer machines. lOL.
