Even though I’m not quite ready to buy, I’ve selected a realtor and explained my situation. I’ve told the realtor that my opinion is that prices will come down further, and when I feel the time is right, I will buy something.
He is totally respectful of that, but still works hard to show me potential properties that might be candidates now (not likely) or down the road.
My experience is that some buyers’ agents are pushy and don’t listen to their client. Before signing a broker-client contract, it’s important to spend time talking to feel this out, and steer clear of these types.
Believe it or not, there are realtors that work FOR their clients’ interests, and are honest, hard-working people. Just got to do the due diligence to find them.
