This may be happening more than once in your case. I am not sure how many brackets there are but I believe at least one trigger exists and it doesn’t take much energy use to exceed it, as I recall.

About 6,300 sqf house…….
Just talking about how the average SDG&E bill is $600/month and the H2O is about $400/month.I have another friend N of the 56….house about 5400 sqf and the SDG&E bill is about $1,000/month (they have a jacuzzi that’s being used plus several outdoor/yard lights)…
I guess McMansions = McBills π
Note: all were talking about being frugal/conservative in their usage to “save”….
