Mainly I spend a lot of my free time in South OC, or Carlsbad which is about 40 miles either way for me. Downtown SD is not my cup of tea so not likely I go there much anyway. (not everyone works in Downtown SD)
We want to live and retire in Temecula. But you spend a lot of your free time in South OC and Carlsbad?
I’m wondering where you work. Do you work in LA?
Yes – North L.A. I work at home a lot, commute about once a week to L.A. if I am not on the road.
I have been to and worked in
Nebraska, Dallas, and KC and around the mid-west Chicago, Springfield etc…
DC, spent a lot of time in Boston,In my opinion the choice of moving to the mid west to retire or change my life or live in TV or SD/OC is no choice.
Also spent a lot on time in South Florida, Yep I could live there too. mid west ?? not for me.
And yes they have mouse-wheels in south Florida too, (not sure about Tampa).
I hate the toll roadsI found coco beach to be a smelly place, not sure why.
One last bit, the few people I know in the Chicago area, want to move here. (by here I mean SD, TV they don’t know exists).

March 4, 2010 at 5:19 PM #520966briansd1GuestIf I worked in No LA, I’d live there too. I like the Glendale area or the Hollywood are by Griffith Park. And West LA, of course.
I have a friend in Chicago who wants to move out West to So Cal. He has a great job… but every time we talk about it’s all about the cold.
I could see myself living in Chicago… in a nice condo with a view.
The OC/SD suburbs are not my style. But I understand the attraction.
To each his own.
