Your problem is that you're too nice. You should have just thrown out the race card, and said something like "It's because I'm asian, isn't it?" 🙂
There is something to be said about the race thing. It's true that minorities are loud. It doesn't bother me (I kinda like the exuberance) but that's what I observe. Â
Travel anywhere in the developing world, and you'll be overwhelmed by sights and sounds — loud music, karaoke, horns, etc… I think the more recent immigrants bring some of that exuberance over here. Â
Compared to most places in the world, America is generally a tame place with more neutral colors and lower decibels. We make up for it in bigness (cars, houses, etc..)Â
