Yes, I speak Italian and family and friends live there. But as you say, there are more affordable places to live. Heck, take your retirement money and move to Costa Rica. Dollars go far there.
Anyway, exactly what you said. The point is you want to retire w/out having struggle too much. Some states are much more conducive. California was appealing to many w/the Prop 13 incentive compared to some states w/higher property taxes. But greed took care of that.
I just don’t how or don’t understand how this can go on. I heard on KPBS how so many new grads can’t find jobs, live at home, take lower paying jobs that have nothing to do w/their degrees. They’re even fighting for intern positions. All that, on top of student loans they have to start paying on. I doubt they’re going to be in a position to buy houses out here.
All I do is shake my head b/c frankly it’s a brain twister for me.
