Why did we attack Hitler's Germany during WWII? Afterall, it was the Japanese, not the Germans, who attacked us at Pearl Harbor. Would you care to extend your same analogy to that time and place? It is truly ironic that those who don't want the US to go to war exclaim that we should focus more on Afghanistan and North Korea.
