Who knew that piggs could get this aggro about bikes? I thought it was just politics that brought out the worst in people.
Anyway, I’ve let a lot of people take the driving test on my ’93 XR250L. Anyone tall enough to handle the bike has appreciated how nimble it is when they’ve got to do those loopy things.
I think my ultimate recommendation for a fun cruiser is an ’83 Honda Nighthawk S. Plenty of power, and a raked out front end that’ll keep new guys shiny side up a lot longer.
One other thing. Helmet fit is more important than anything. If there’s a pressure point, guess what happens under 50 G’s. Not good.
Sometimes I think that new bikers should get a tour of an ortho ward – because the chance they’ll be there is significant. Probably best not to ride if you don’t have good health insurance.
