As for me, my mother-in-law (big consumer-type who really likes fancy labels and thinks love is shown in the price tags of gifts) made my husband buy a ring and made us have a traditional wedding. I wanted to have a simple ring, and elope in Lake Tahoe so we could have a really inexpensive and simple wedding with close family members and a few friends each — then, we could go gambling afterward. 🙂
Personally, I wear a simple gold band with glass stones that once belonged to my grandmother. It’s maybe worth $50 on a good day.
Like the other female Piggs, I do not enjoy shopping at all, and manage the money in our family (have kept us out of debt all these years, and consistently made us money via our investments) while staying home to take care of our kids and home.
Maybe that’s why the female Piggs find your posts so offensive, dave. You’re generalizing based on the people **you** seem to associate with. That has nothing to do with how real, quality women behave. Most women are not gold-diggers.
Perhaps if you changed what **you** are looking for, you’d find there’s a great, big world filled with really decent women who might be looking for a partnership with someone they love. You’re chasing after really hot women who don’t want a committment. Of course you’re going to see a lot of gold-diggers (who try to “trick” men into getting them pregnant, too???). Why would you expect anything different? You get what you give.
