There really is no need to worry. Beams and rice, people, beans and rice. Grow a few tomatoes, get a little salsa. Save rime shopping. Just stock up. Make it 1/3 of your meals and watch your grocery bills drop. Go full time and you can retire! Throw in a piece of meat or fish if you have it maybe an avocado you found. Save gas shopping.
scaredy,we eat a lot of this, too! I have always made all my own meals and even brown-bagged every day all the years I worked away from home FT. Whenever I DO drive, I run 4-5 errands, in order by location. However, I have STILL seen my grocery bill go up in the last 10 yrs or so from about $168 mo to an avg of $295 mo. This figure includes toiletries and household products.
Food prices have just risen exponentially in the last 10 years!
