i am thriving, in spite of the personal sense that I and the system are on the brink of failure. I just purchased several books on waste disposal, including the humanure handbook, a septic system guide and interestingly a manual on using greywater to create an oasis at your house. that sounds intriguing. The fed is basically telling me they will do their level best to screw me if i am unable to buy this house, even without a septic tank. I believe in my heart that they cannot win at the end of the day, but the day may be a long time.
Precisely how I feel about our situation, scaredy. While I’m quite sure the *real* economy stinks, and that deflation is the primary undercurrent (which is why we keep getting QEX), the Fed is so hell-bent on destroying anyone with cash, it’s scared me into going ahead with a purchase…though I know we are nowhere near a “real” bottom.
They can drag this out for years and years, negating any savings we might realize by forcing us to pay rent for so long that we end up spending more on rent than we’ll save on a purchase when things are finally allowed to get back to “normal” (pre-2001/bubble levels).
To heck with it…we’re waving the white flag and are ready to surrender to the enemy. At some point, it’s just not worth fighting anymore.
