Right. All the poor, marginalized, drug addicted, and ELL kids — whom the public schools are mandated to accept — would be attending the private schools instead, and the scores in those once-elite private schools would drop to levels seen in the public schools.
It won’t solve the problem. Too easy to use the teachers as scapegoats, but they are not the reason our test scores have dropped so much over the years.
