Not to mention the revenue from the insidious Mello Roos, the back door way to get around Prop 13. And for those older neighborhoods who don’t enjoy MR, you can enjoy MAD – Maintenance Assessment district charges. Little Italy, La Jolla (Birdrock) and Golden Hill have it.
The government always finds a way to suck money out of us. If anyone still owns a house under Prop 13 that enjoys low taxes, good for them. At least a handful can give the government the finger. They pay in other ways. We all do – now and in the future more than ever.
