UCGal, in regards to undergrads, $9041 IS over $1000 mo. for a 3-person dorm room.

And this does not include meal plans, which are $65-100 week.

Your 2010 Housing contract includes one of three Dining Dollar Plans based on your Housing assignment:

The 3400 Full Meal Plan (100 Dollars per week)
The 2893 ResHal Minimum Meal Plan (85 Dollars per week)
The 2220 Apartment Minimum Meal Plan (65 Dollars per week)

IMHO, living on campus at UCSD is too cramped and expensive for undergrads, and probably DOES NOT compete with the space and LR/kitchen access of an off-campus apt.
