The only reason why Public Transit doesn’t work here in SD is because the voters are too freak out to invest in it. It runs off of 1/6th of a cent sales tax. Give me a break. The voters approved the transnet sales tax a coulpe of years ago, but the majority of that funding is going to hwy and capital construction, none to operations. San Fran and L.A. both have a full cent dedicated to transit operations. Although L.A. too sprawled to serve, S.F. (more like S.D.) is served great and everyone with a car has an option.
All great cities have a great public transit system. Look around the world.. Improve it here, and San Diego’s will be great.
