That is the thing though, yes it does suck, for many more people then just you and CAR. I can tell you I have had many many buyers who have been outbid like you guys. Same story.
Look you just said you and CAR. Both of you guys are smart and very savy. You guys know the websites, fidelity, and priority posting, (and rpp for el cajon) and you understand the game with postponements and such. I am sure between the two of you, there is someone you know who you can pay 15 or 20 bucks an hour to send to the auction. It is not like you would be sending them everyday either. You guys are looking for a home to buy not to flip correct? So if that is the case I think you guys will be a little more discriminating. You make it sound like you would be sending someone down to the auction every day and that will be far from the case. You will know when the auction date is, and you will want to do drivebys and get whatever info you can get about the home. You will find that you will be sending someone down there alot less then you think. You also will be able to comp the home to figure out your fair value or how much you will be willing to overpay to get it.
Again, is all this easy? No. However I don’t think it is as insurmountable as you make it out to be. I think if you put as much time and energy into it as you do with normal research you do, you will be quite successful. You guys are sharp.
