Thanks for the comment on cable on hold.
I am already out of the apartment for 10days and property management thinks it might take 3 more weeks
I am not as concerned on repairs on my unit, I know the ownwers insurance is working on it. My concern is asbestos exposure from neighbot potential improper management of repair, as I said she does not have insurance so who know if someone qualified will do the job. I read asbestos left alone are not issue but if they are exposed just one fiber in air can be dangererous. She has to do work where asbestos could be exposed, the same way that we have to do in my apartment, with the difference the owner of the place I rent is taking care of it.
Regarding utilities, I do not know if it pennies or not. This is fundamental question: I am not living there, why would I pay any part of the bill, the owner should assume that cost instead of saying only incremental of a regular month
There is definitely pain on having to rush pack for a month and luve in a hotel. Plus we are paying everything now until the insurance pays us back. So if 2 lessons learn: get rental insurance and be sure to have at least 6 months of emergency fund. Hotel (living) is 3-4 times more expensive than rent plus no cooking at home so the 6months can ran out quickly.
I have lost a couple of days of work due to having to supervise one inspection and the move but not sure if anyone (insurance or condo owner) will pay so I am writing that off.
