TG,
It doesn’t seem like a bad policy to defend someone who is being ridiculed while not being present.
Regardless of his alleged questionable choices, he has what looks like several good things going for him. The man is working with two of his sons in is old age.How cool. While I don’t know much about him he does apparently have a woman that wants to be around him(hopefully the mother of his children). It is possible that it is all sour grapes in his family. However, I don’t see much will amongst the critics, who are as ignorant about the man as I am, to look for places to give him credit.
To go with what WalterWhite has posted:
Maybe the object of ridicule has tried a life of peaceful self indulgence and found it lacking? I know some very good old men, still very sane to reasonably sane, who don’t stop working. They have some things going for them that allow them to do projects in their choosen vocations, or in a field completely different, that they could not dream of when they were 30. I can see why that would make them happy.
