That way everyone else would be equally armed to the police.. and the police might be less likely to pull their weapons to push people around realizing the other person might be armed as well. I suspect that both police involved didn’t know that the other was also an officer.. so they were going to use the ‘well I am the police with a gun’ justification… big OOPS!
