If the relatives do not already have a firearm, do you think the background check will now allow them to purchase one? Particularly if you consider that they have a ‘grievance’ against the police.
If they already have one, don’t you think that there may be a ‘pretense’ to confiscate? California will confiscate your firearms if you are convicted of misdemeanor battery.
