I know someone else that did this to their Lexus GX. Is there a reason to do this to a GX?
GX is basically a shorter-wheelbase Land Cruiser — it’s a decently capable off-road vehicle.
one thing to consider for over land trips,… from what I gather the lexus GX 470 has an air-suspension,…. ditch the air-suspension and install steel coil springs which would be more roubust
driven tens of thousand of miles on various dirt roads in my 80 series land cruiser which was setup for alaska/baja,… personally consider the 80 series the last true serious off road vehicle because it came w/ solid axles
the 100 series land cruiser introduced IFS (independent front suspension) which gives the vehicle a more comfortable paved road ride BUT IMHO for overland trips its best to have solid axles
decades ago when I outfitted my 80 series for overland trips, purchased lots of stuff from spector off road (mentioned this because they might have stuff for the lexus gx???)
