Malpractice insurance premiums in CA are exorbitant and I would often need to “work around the clock” when I had deadlines (often) if I didn’t pay a “paralegal” to support me (plus all their payroll taxes and benefits) OR hire an independent contractor paralegal by the job (also expensive).
