Sorry, desmond. I’m still adding to this thread. But I’m not a Fat HOGGGGG and anyone that’s met me at a Piggington meetup can attest to that.
Okay. So I shared this story w/a fellow Piggington, but I’m going to post here b/c I have a theory.
First the background:
We went to Buca Di Beppo last night. Husband had caprese salad and 2 pieces of pesto salmon and mashed potatoes. I indulged had a few slices of the caprese and then had a mixed green salad, green beans and nibbled a little on some of his mashed potatoes.
But to top it off, he ordered a slice of double chocolate cake to go. I was stuffed. But when we got home, he had some cake. I swear, the slice is HUGE. I don’t know where I get the willpower, but I did not have any. That cake looked so good and Aaron said it’s the best cake he ever had, better than the chocolate cake at Claim Jumper.
Well, he was HAPPY. I think some food really can make people happy. This could be a new theory. Americans are getting fatter b/c they need some happiness in their lives, however temporary and fleeting. Which is why they continue to eat more and more.
I’m sure there must be some study out there on this, whether certain foods raise serotonin levels. I bet eating an apple or an apricot won’t do it, but chocolate cake would.
I mean, certain food are comforting, right? I can understand if there’s a chemical reaction when eating certain foods that cause people to be happy and they don’t care about their weight, b/c, well, they’re happy.
