Some programs are needed. A safety net is needed. The safety net needs to have safe guards to prevent abuse. And we should always ask are we getting our money’s worth from the program? Is the program goals being accomplished. Should the program exist.
These questions are not asked and instead we have mindless debates with sound bites and colored terms.
Obama has been consistent in record and voice opinion, fund more programs.
Sadly the alternative doesn’t provide any better ideas.
