While we found something that attracts us to buy, the availability gives us time to consider as well as my priggish/piggeshness (not my wife so much).
As any discriminating buyer, we are concerned with turnover of neighbors, but you seem to say that even though you have lived in a stable neighborhood (indeed in my backyard right?), you have seen your children go through this? I think it’s important to instill stability in the early years and prepare children for change upon teenage years (as we force them into private school). We think Del Sur can provide that early foundation.
To be honest sdr, we didn’t have a clear plan before and are still trying to formulate one. A year ago, I never thought I would actually want a home east of Rancho Santa Fe rather than actually in Rancho Santa Fe (if I could afford it). But the reality comes down to, “what is the best neighborhood for my children?” (yet to be born) and I am still looking for someone to tell me that anywhere in San Diego offers this better than this little nook of Del Sur we are looking at.
Simply put, someone tell me a better place for toddlers and elementary school kids than Del Sur? Where they can walk outside, play together, and walk to school?

We’re not losing family here though, we’re ready to make one. We both work on the coast (Del Mar/Encinitas)…the drive through Rancho San Dieguito is quite nice.
