A Convicted Felon
$540,000/year from CalPERS
Basically convicted of stealing tax payer money.
Wow. You can say that again.
Point to a single person here who would defend or condone this in any way.
Once again, the those with an anti-worker agenda focus on the extreme outliers that NOBODY is trying to justify. CalPERS serves ~536,000 current retirees and only ~12,000 earn $100K+.
You always bring up what we are doing to our future and future generations except here. The issue isnt that a few hundred thousand workers who retired 20 years ago are receiving massive pensions its that every year the pile is growing. I can just see you rolling out the “nobody saw it coming” meme in decade or so.
Damning future generations to inflated RE is a wrong IYO but damning them to pay for the inflated pensions of todays public sector workers is just fine. I dont get it?
Apparently, you missed my **multiple** posts which stated that I had *always* opposed the Davis pension boost…long before you and most other pension-haters had even heard about a “pension crisis.” It’s the #1 reason that the $100K+ number is growing.
Did you miss my **multiple** posts that outlined reforms that would actually work and that would not require legislative changes? At least I’m coming up with **realistic** reforms instead of spewing envy-based vitriolic nonsense that isn’t even legal, would end up costing more than the current pensions, and would end up causing massive social upheaval.
Heck, I’ve outlined reforms that would bring California out of a deficit situation almost instantly, but crickets responded because it would mean that **everybody** takes a hit. Reforming pensions wouldn’t get us even remotely close to fixing our budget problems. Pension costs are a tiny fraction of our state’s expenses. It’s just the propaganda that makes everyone think that “fixing pensions” would fix our budget. Nothing could be further from the truth.
