Sorry but there is plenty of anti-Semitism in the USA. Just like there is plenty of racism in the USA.
Just because you don’t see it doesn’t mean it is not there.
I see a lot of it. I choose not to ignore it or laugh it off.
No matter where you go, you’ll see all kinds of anti-something. How about misogyny? There’s a lot more of that than there is anti-Semitism, IMHO. There are far more successful Jews than successful women in this country (and the world), yet they’re a much smaller percentage of the population (especially when you exclude Jewish women, and just look at the success of Jewish males). I wonder why the “B-word” hasn’t been treated in the same way that the “N-word” or the “F-word” (for gay men) have. No group has been more oppressed throughout history, and across almost all cultures, than women. But nobody really bats an eye when people make jokes about women, or when people derisively use the “B-word.”
Personally, I don’t let it get to me, but if we’re going to be sensitive about names, then we should apply this protection to all oppressed groups, especially the ones that have been most oppressed, no?
