No, they don’t. I wasn’t thinking of dropping a child off for “an hour at a time.” I was thinking of “all day for one week a month.” I know cc centers charge higher “drop-in rates” if you do not use them for regular hours every single week. The OP stated his spouse would be alone with the kid(s) one week per month when he would be out of town. As far as visiting your baby during lunch, I think a lot of on-site daycare centers allow this for mothers of small infants but perhaps not for older babies or toddlers.
Edit: just looked at Rhett’s link. Both on on-campus cc centers charge on a full-time basis. With one parent home 3 weeks per month, this particular family probably does not need that. A private day care home or a nanny might work better for them, although don’t think the nanny would be less expensive than paying for FT care at the ECEC ($675 mo) and using it as-needed.
