It was a crime in colonial puritan america,to celebrate xmas.
They are rolling over in their Graves at our utter commercialization of the Lord.
colonial puritan’s would NOT be rolling over in their Graves at our utter commercialization of the Lord becuse that would require the transformation of dead puritan’s into a ZOMBIE which is defined as (the body of a dead person given the semblance of life)
having said that I do agree that there is way too much commercialization and consumption associated with this time of year (which in turn has an adverse affect on the environment) and much of this can be traced back to a marketing champaign to move more product which sold well in the summer (but not so-much in the winter)
Coca-Cola did help to create the modern-day image of Santa, and in fact the way most of us see Santa Claus – friendly and plump with a white beard – did come from Coca-Cola advertising.
on last though since you mentioned “Lord,” ever consider that the first of the 10 commandments is actually an admonishment/reminder not to over consume?
1) You shall have no other gods before me. (i.e. $hit sold at a $tore/$hopping mall)
