I’m a economic socialist (and a social libertarian), not a communist. 😉
I support private property rights, but oppose hoarding, monopolies, and market manipulation — particularly because these things are designed to enrich the few (who are not necessarily producers, but simply have the right connections/power) at the expense of the many.
As such, I acknowledge the fact that people with different skills and work ethics will perform at different levels. It’s perfectly logical that people will earn different wages, and be entitled to different levels of luxury/living. It’s the size of the disparity that causes me concern. When it gets too large, social unrest is the inevitable result. That’s what we are witnessing right now around the world, and it’s coming here soon, IMHO.
