Then we’re in agreement. Certainly if renters or “owners” can’t afford a place, they need to move. We should not subsidize any group, IMHO, with the same exceptions (basic needs) you’ve mentioned above. It just that some people seem to believe one group (“owners”) should receive preferential treatment, and that’s what I disagree with.
