Revising my list. I’ve seen Jenn-Air is now made in China.
I have been continuing to try to buy American or at least not MIC during my remodel. I found some really nice pulls for my kitchen cabinet that were made in Italy online.
I was looking for some cabinet pulls for my linen cabinet, but HD and Lowes were all MIC. I was in OB one weekend and stopped in one of the antique stores there, thinking maybe they have something for cabinets. The lady that worked there said that they rarely have those any longer b/c easy to sell on Ebay.
So this started my search on craigslist in the antique section. I’ve been scoring on some great items, many Made in the USA. And the quality and durability is impressive. Found the cutest cermic knobs.
Also, I’m adding this to this thread b/c I have been searching everywhere for some cool lights. I’ve checked HD, Lowes, Lamps Plus, etc, etc. Pretty much all MIC. I stumbled upon this while looking for some old park benches for my back yard. And then did some more research.
Vintage Barn Lights and Barn Light Electric. They have some really cool lights. The VBL restore old Benjamin gas station lights. BLE have vintage and also replica lights made in the USA and even some cool ceiling fans.
I ended up buying some gas station light hoods on craigslist. The guy selling them said he got them from an abandoned warehouse/factory in Tennessee. How’s that for a sad and twisted irony. A real piece of Americana history.
I probably am going to get some more of these for the back yard.
If you’re looking for something different than the usual MIC stuff found at the typical retail stores, this is an option to consider. Get them while you can.
