Price is $570K. Commission is 2.5%. Broker gets his piece. My assistant gets here piece. Two years of expenses. I’ll be up around 250 hours by the time all is said and done. Of course I have to pay self employment taxes also. I’m not bitchin just presenting the reality. It was 2 years and its not over yet nor was there ever any guarantee I’d make a cent.
Pepsi,
The dynamics of this market and in particular the true profitability of RE brokerages is so unknown to you I cant even begin nor would I try to make a cogent argument. Simply stated, very few full service big name brokerages make money on RE transactions. They make their money on ancillary services. SD R and I went round about on this issue a couple years ago and hopefully he ahs a better appreciation for the truth now. Discount RE brokerages have always been, are and always will be a niche business. the economics simply arent there for them to be anything but. Good Luck with Redfin taking over the RE world and Ipayone before them not to mention HelpUsell, Assist2 sell and all the other discount shops that have come and gone.
