This line in this song speaks cynical volumes about the gullibility of masses. That any scruffy itinerant, if he should start spouting stuff about Jesus, would earn the ears and some of the money of passing listeners. The same apparently goes for any scruffy itinerant who spouts stuff about wealth.
Sad.
