Perry, I can’t beleive that you think traveling with the military does not count. What a snob! It is true that some people choose never to leave their comfort zone but you can’t lump all people together! My husband took every chance he could get (leave, weekends) to travel around and immerse himself in the culture.
By the way, there are plenty of civilian people living in other countries who never leave their American compound.
