Congrats on your RV purchase CAR…
I sold my TT 2 years ago just because it sat and rarely got used. As you point out the key is to use it, otherwise for me it just became another monthly (storage) bill.
I’m thinking about buying another PUP in the near future and storing it in my garage.
I’ve gotten used to staying in hotels though; in the big picture it’s probably cheaper given the cost of RV’s. But RVing is fun/adventure and that’s the intangible that you don’t get in a hotel room.[/quote]
Thanks, paramount.
Are you referring to getting a tent trailer (PUP)? If so, that’s a pretty nice option that will cost less and be easier to store. We had one of those when I was growing up, and we traveled across the country almost every summer. Have wonderful memories from those trips.
Having the trailer sit is definitely one of our bigger worries. At least the beach campgrounds are nearby so we can at least camp there, especially during the off-season. I think the key is to keep the RV on your lot, or at least in a local storage place. Having it far away makes it more of a chore to pick up, etc., so people are probably less likely to use it. We’re still trying to figure out if we can make room for it on our lot, but it will take more money to make that happen, naturally. The storage fees around here are crazy!
