. . . Yes, you were knowingly or unknowingly a taker. . .
paramount, I am a former longtime gov’t employee and don’t have a “fat cat” pension (negotiated in the last ten years).
I seriously doubt you (or any Pigg for that matter) would perform the tasks I had to for as long as I did and for as little respect as I got for the small pension I am now eligible for. By far, those jobs I did within the “system” were far more stressful (due to a never-ending workload and a pervasive lack of respect) than ANY jobs I have had in the private sector.
The absolute hardest road to take to make your living is to choose to be a “non-professional” government worker, IMO. They put up with more BS, favoritism and incompetent mgmt than ANY American worker alive and deserve every single penny of their hard-won pensions.
paramount, you and all Piggs are free to apply, hopefully become “selected” for appointment and serve your probation to try making the “system” work for your “retirement goals.” Bear in mind that the “vesting period” is 5-10 years, depending on level of government and occupation. In that 5-10 years, get used to bending over and being treated as an indentured servant, no matter what your qualifications. As your workload piles higher and higher (due to retirements and their subsequent unfilled positions), you have just sold your soul. Your already overloaded duties will actually INCREASE with the passing of a probationary period or a promotion, entailing a *new* “probationary period” under persons who may or may not be as “receptive” to you (qualifications ALWAYS secondary). :=!
