Paramount I kind of agree with your analysis that over a longer period of time things will keep deteriorating.
One thing I always think to myself when reading the cataclysmic posts is that I think people revel more in writing about the worst happenings then anything else. Because in my mind the reality of the situation is, if things are that dire and become that bad, we are screwed. Honestly do you think a couple of handguns, a garage full of tp and kraft macaroni and cheese, a portable honda generator and 100 gallons of water will sustain you in our “new society”.
I can see it now, the govt is rounding people up but no they cannot root out old SD Realtor from his Scripps Ranch compound because it is so darn well defended.
I mean honestly come on guys? Now if someone posts that they have bought a plot in Idaho, have the well up and running, have a few thousand gallons of fuel, a couple acres of land, and have moved into an area with many well organized neighbors, have livestock, medical supplies, and are prepared to live alone for a few years, then I think you have a chance. I was talking to my cousin and he married a Mormon woman and he has a pilots license and a plane. He does have half a chance as well.
However I think it is close to laughable thinking that you can stock your garage with supplies and will be able to hold off federal forces, or even roving hordes. How do you cope with things when they shut off water and utilities? Will your generator run nice and quiet so nobody hears it? Seriously…. I guess it is all entertaining and maybe you feel better about yourself when you look over that fully stocked garage. Personally our garage is stocked but it is for earthquake prep. I have a few weapons now but I do not delude myself thinking that Fort Pinot Noir is impenetrable. Nor do I think that things will really suck but only for as long as my supplies hold out, then they will magically be better.
I think life will change and our childrens life will be much worse then ours. Indeed maybe we have the calamity that some of you seem to almost hope for. The problem is if we do you will not even be able to get on line to post how right you were.
