We have bills because of either a good or service that we selected, purchased or otherwise signed up for.

You have every right to live whatever frugal, self-sustaining, (hermit in the forest) lifestyle you want. But if you want something from someone you have to either barter for it, pay for it, or convince them to give it to you for free.
