nostra – I felt the same way and agree w/you. It is the most transparent political move ever. Out of all the political women out there, he picks a governor – of Alaska. And also, let’s get the religious vote for sure. She’s a poster child for pro-life. God help us if he’s our president at 72 something happens to him, she’s running our country. Wow. I just can’t even think of it. I just shudder. This will almost make GW look good.
She is running for VP, but the position of VP is to be Pres in the event of whatever, so you have to make sure that person would/could handle it.
(as in Cheney can handle it if something happens to GW, since he seems to be running the show and pulling the strings behind the scene so far)
And I think it is a personal decision to take on a Down Syndrome baby. You choose to have that baby, it is your responsibility to love and care for her/him. Does that mean dropping it off on nanny?
Lastly, I agree w/patientlywaiting. One is a political figure and one can’t make sure their 17 yo daughter does not get pregnant? So she’s pro-life (against abortion) does not believe in birth control or condoms? Against sex-ed. How about waiting until you get married before you breed then. Very trailer-trash. Got the 17yo pregnant daughter w/a shot-gun wedding. Nice.
I guess that’s all there is to do in Alaska is breed.
And that’s not even really addressing her experience. I’d have rather seen C. Rice. This is the best he can come up with?
