National Geographic ran some articles about what happens when we run out of oil. There was a photo of a family with all the items taken out of their house that were made from petrolium derivatives. It was quite remarkable. Worth checking out. The articles were spread out through more than one issue, I think. Had some good info on alternative energy and their relative costs.
