Minor nit. That $250k isn’t on gains it’s on any income. So if you’re a two wage earner family with $250k of w2, every penny of capital gains gets the surcharge.
Second nit, if you’re over that $400k number your capital gains do not go from 15% to 20%. They go from 18.3% to 23.8%. That obamacare surtax applies
