Military does not use orange and blue on their AC. They use the traditional red-green. They also use a pale green ‘luminescent’ strips on certain parts of the aircraft to help with identification of type of aircraft at closer distances.
I have seen something strange hauling butt down Penasquitos canyon (east to west), about 500 to 1000 feet above the rim of the canyon. I reached for my camera and ‘the thing’ had gone into a cloud and didn’t come out the other side. I was at Torrey Pines Glider Port. It looked almost like looking into the search light on a police helicopter at a distance.. but traveling way too fast (slightly faster and much lower than Miramar jets when they take that corridor). I was wondering if it was a jet flying too low with the afterburner on.. but the light was too white and too bright. I didn’t hear any noise from a jet on afterburner afterward either.
— and I am completely sane and have not been drinking.. I have 15/20 vision.. honest officer.
Honestly though, I did see it and it feel that I was in or joining the ‘black helicopter’ crowd. I did have my good camera with the good 500mm lens.. Wish I had gotten a shot before it went behind a cloud. Supposedly events like that have been increasing around military bases or towns with military bases. All I can say is: I hope those things belong to us.. not someone else.
