Maybe the old coot’s relatives will sit him down and have a “come to J@s^s conversation” with him about what all this embarrassing publicity might do to his investment firm business (due to employees badmouthing him, etc). Maybe a couple of them will volunteer to contract out the needed repairs on this property for him, forwarding all the invoices to him so he can “keep track” of the expenses and thus continue to feel important and like he’s “in control” of the project.
Maybe the poor slob doesn’t entertain at home anymore (due to no longer having a spouse) and doesn’t have the time to deal with this :={
