Maybe that’s why the female Piggs find your posts so offensive, dave. You’re generalizing based on the people **you** seem to associate with. That has nothing to do with how real, quality women behave. Most women are not gold-diggers.
I’m going to have to have my head examined after this because I am actually going to defend davelj here..
First off, I don’t want the Piggington women to take what I am saying badly. Right off the bat, I have to say that women, who don’t get into shopping and yield to all that merchandising crap, are actually a ‘pretty rare breed’ (don’t feel bad about it, it puts you in more rarefied company). This can be demonstrated that the merchandising effort targeting women still continues (men are targeted far less). Women, who are ‘gold diggers’ and those that are nearly so, don’t make it obvious when in good company (It would scare off the men and women friends of men would notify their guy friends to stay away from these women. It is also perceived as being in bad taste.). The truth only comes out after knowing someone for a while.
If you still think that there are many women such as the ‘Piggington’ women, remember your mother-in-law:
As for me, my mother-in-law (big consumer-type who really likes fancy labels and thinks love is shown in the price tags of gifts) made my husband buy a ring and made us have a traditional wedding.
that’s pretty close to home for it to be a rare occurrence.
This doesn’t mean that davelj doesn’t get misogynistic at times though..
