LTR, not sure that bdc0’s family is even living in SD County at present. He states 92021 (Bostonia/Gillespie Field) is the location of his work. This is another 10-12 mins east of La Mesa in lite traffic. I do not believe Tierrasanta has and am uncertain if CV has one-story properties in the size he is looking for. Tierrasanta has a “buried ordinance” issue in several western subdivisions and also several tracts built with the faulty PBT plumbing. Even though most of the munitions have been found and excavated, this still poses a hazard, IMO, esp in its open space. In addition, Serra High and its feeder-schools are transient due to a high concentration of resident students with an active-duty military parent.
LJ most likely will not have the size home the OP is looking for within his price range, unless it is a “heavy fixer.”
Scripps Ranch may have some of the type of properties he is looking for but Scripps and CV may likely prove to be a commuting headache when there are plenty of properties much closer to his employment which more than meet his needs, IMO.
bdc0, if you don’t mind my asking, where is your family currently living?? And, are you familiar with SD County at all??
